Explanation and Purpose of Posting Messages to the Foster Family Website

Posting messages to the Foster Family Website is a quick communication tool. These messages are known by families as “Private Posts with your Caseworker”. They are not included in Case Notes, as they are not official records. Posting a message will display on the Foster Family Website Communication tab and will also generate an email notification to the family containing the message content.

There are two ways of posting a message on the Foster Family Website:

Option 1. From your extendedReach Home Page, click on “Post Message to Homes”.

Note

Only authorized users can post messages to homes. In order to post messages, a user must have the “Add: Home Activities” ID setting enabled and hold either the Supervisor or Administrative Support workspace role. The Case/Licensing Worker workspace does not have access to the “Post Messages to Homes” button. These permissions ensure that communication through the Foster Family Website remains secure, controlled, and visible only to the appropriate parties.
