This article is meant to assist you with an overview of the Foster Family Website.

Explanation and Purpose of Foster Family Website Overview

This is an overview of the Foster Family Website from an Agency Worker’s perspective, for the purpose of understanding what your Foster Families see and how it connects back into extendedReach.

Foster Family Website Overview Access

From the left side of your Workspace, go to “Home Rosters”, click on “Family Website Status”, and select a home by clicking on a blue hyper-linked name.

From here, click on the “Family Web” tab, then click on the “Posts” tab and finally click on the blue hyper-link named “View Family Website”.

Foster Family Website Overview

The Foster Family Website is configured by an Agency Administrator. The view a worker sees is very similar to the view for a Foster Family.

Agency Logo – Your agency’s logo will appear on all sections of the Foster Family website. To learn more about logos, see the Family Web Configuration – Logo/Colors article.

Foster Family Website Communication

The Communication section of the Foster Family Website is designed to announce updates and reminders to Foster Families. It is configured by an Agency Administrator. To learn more about the news tab, see the Family Web Configuration – News Tab article.

Private Posts with your Caseworker – Click in the box to to type a note or ask a question, select who it’s regarding (if you wish), add file attachments and press “Submit”.

Community Posts – Click in the box to to type questions and share answers with other Foster Parents, and press “Submit”.

Licensing Checklist – To Upload “Required Documentation”, click on the “Upload” button to easily upload documents.

Fill in the information including: document type, comments, file chosen. Click on “Submit” to save upload.

Reminders – These will vary depending on the way your agency titles this section. To learn more about Calendar Configuration, see the Family Web Configuration – News Tab article.

Foster Family Resources – This section will vary depending on how your agency titles and uses this section. To learn more about Posting Messages to Families, see the Family Web Configuration – Emails article.

Foster Family Website Children

The Children section of the Foster Family Website is designed to keep photos, as well as biological and medical information about children for their Foster Families. It is configured by an Agency Administrator. To learn more about the child tab, see the Family Web Configuration – Child Tab article.

Child’s Blank Forms – Families can print these forms, complete them, and upload them back into the system via My Home section of this Foster Family Website.

Current Placements – Families can view details about current placements by clicking on the blue hyper-linked name.

To access any of this information, click on the blue hyper-linked title.

Foster Family Website My Home

The My Home section of the Foster Family Website is designed to keep License, Training, and Payments information for Foster Families. It is configured by an Agency Administrator. To learn more about the home tab, see the Family Web Configuration – Home Tab article.

Foster Home Information – This information is automatically generated from the information gathered in the extendedReach system.

Family Profile – Click on “Create your Profile”. The Foster Family can complete information regarding their home so you are better able to match children and assist in preparing a foster child before he or she arrives.

  • Complete Background, upload photos, and click on “Submit”.

Earnings History – View earnings based on days care rates.

Training and Upcoming Events – This information is configured by an Agency Administrator. To learn more, see the Family Web Configuration – Home Tab article.

Upload Documentation – Foster families can easily upload completed forms back into the extendedReach system.

*They can click on “Upload Documentation”

  • Fill in the information including: document type, comments, file chosen. Click on “Submit” to save upload.

*Or they can click on any of the blue hyperlinks (or red expiring links) located under the checklist.

Licensing and Case Workers – Contact information is stored on this page for Foster parents’ easy access.
