This article is meant to assist you with editing PDF documents in extendedReach.
If you have a question not addressed here, you can search at the bottom of this article in Related Articles or contact support at email@example.com.
Adobe Acrobat Professional provides the most flexibility and control over editing Adobe PDF files. It will allow you to edit the content of PDF files, in addition to filling out PDF forms. Unfortunately, Adobe Acrobat professional is not a free download, and requires a fairly costly purchase.
Acrobat Professional does not require any special configuration changes to work with the extendedReach Plugin.
Acrobat Reader Configuration
Adobe Acrobat Reader is a free downloadable application that you can get from here: https://get.adobe.com/reader/
Acrobat Reader will allow you to view any PDF, and fill-in Adobe PDF forms. However, you need to configure Adobe Reader to work with the extendedReach Plugin. Specifically, you need to enable the ability to “Save” your changes to the specific file you are editing, rather than using ‘Save As’ to save your changes to a new location outside of extendedReach.
Here are the steps to configure Adobe Acrobat Reader
- Launch Adobe Acrobat Reader
- Open the Preference dialog using the menu option “File -> Preferences…” of press Ctrl+K
- Click on Security (Enhanced) in the left navigation
- Uncheck the box “Enable Protected Mode at Startup”
- Click “OK” to close the preferences dialog

You will now be able to edit and save Adobe PDF files while using the extendedReach Plugin.
